Safety Matters

The health and safety of our employees, customers, public and environment guide our every action at Bell Supply Company. We’re not only in compliance with all applicable OSHA, DOT and EPA standards as outlined in our HS&E policies and procedures, but we’ve developed an integrated management system that ensures we stay compliant to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. In addition, to help current and potential customers track our compliance, Bell Supply Company is a member of various review and verification services including:

Behavior-Based Safety

Bell Supply Company takes a proactive approach to eliminate unsafe behaviors. Our employees develop skills in observing unsafe behaviors and conditions, and then giving feedback to the appropriate parties. Each and every employee also learns how to confront and resolve unsafe behaviors before an incident or accident occurs. Empowering employees to make a difference in their own safety creates a culture of safety that is second to none. Bell Supply Company uses a number of highly effective tools to reward employees and continually monitor the safety culture:

  • Employee Safety Incentive Program (based on leading indicators)
  • Job Safety Analysis
  • Hazard Assessments
  • Safe Observations

Involving all employees, maintaining strict compliance, working to create a culture of safety and eliminating unsafe behaviors enables Bell Supply Company to safely give its customers the highest level of quality service. Initial and ongoing job training for every employee is key to preventing injuries. That’s why Bell Supply Company Safety Coordinators conduct daily safety meetings and monthly training classes that cover topics from proper equipment usage to danger awareness.

Through a combination of remedial actions, continual monitoring and prevention, Bell Supply Company has initiated steps to eliminate or minimize the adverse impact any processes and activities may have on the immediate environment. We also comply with all regulatory monitoring and reporting requirements.

We create unsurpassed value for our clients, our investors, and our employees as the energy industry’s premier product distributor and service provider by providing superior products and services that meet or exceed our customers’ expectations in a mutually profitable and responsible way; maintaining adequate inventory of products to support our customers’ requirements; providing adequate resources including financial, infrastructure, facilities, employee training, education, and empowerment; and continually monitoring, analyzing, and improving our quality management systems and processes.
